LegalMasters collects your personal data when practising the legal profession to protect your legitimate interests entrusted to the attorney.
LegalMasters collects your personal data in order to enter into pre-contractual relations with you, as well as to fulfil its contractual obligations to you by providing services on the website www.legalmasters.bg, namely to provide you with the opportunity to request legal services online.
Legalmasters partnership processes personal data when fulfilling legal obligations that apply to controllers (e.g. under the Anti-Money Laundering Measures Act or the Legal Profession Act), and if necessary in order to protect the life and health of the data subject.
LegalMasters also collects personal data after obtaining your explicit, clear, free, and unambiguous consent for processing purposes. For example, for marketing purposes and to receive newsletters. The consent you provide can always be withdrawn by notifying us at the following email: contact@legalmasters.bg.
LegalMasters may also process personal data where it has a legal (legitimate) interest, except where such interests are overridden by the interests of the data subject, and when processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or when exercising official authority vested in the controller for legal assistance and protection of the freedoms, rights, and legitimate interests of natural and legal persons.
What purposes do we collect your personal data for?
The personal data received from you will be used to enable us to fulfil our obligations to you, and to assist you exercise your rights, including by:
- Identifying and communicating with our clients, entering into pre-contractual relationships, and entering into and performing contracts for legal services;
- Effectively performing our duties as administrators to protect the rights and legitimate interests of clients in the practice of law under the Attorney Act, as assigned by contract or by law.
How long do we store and process your data before destroying it?
Your personal data will be stored by us for a period of 5 years from the expiration of the contractual relationship, including the cases of legal representation when the attorney is required to keep the case files and documents for which he has been authorized for 5 years from their completion. After this period expires and in cases when legal grounds for further storage of your personal data no longer exist, the information about you might be destroyed.
Whom do we provide your personal data to? Are there any cases when we may share your personal data?
Considering the specific duties of the administrators in the practice of the legal profession, the data shall be provided to judicial and executive authorities, to private persons to whom the State has entrusted public functions – notaries, bailiffs, and other persons when this is necessary for the performance of the duties assigned by contract or law to the administrators in the practice of the legal profession. This might include third parties such as payment institutions for payments made, courier companies, and postal operators for correspondence with individual data subjects in compliance with applicable data protection rules.
Besides the cases above, we would allow the disclosure of data to third parties on the following:
- Written request of the data subject;
- Extraordinary situations to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another person.
- Requirement of a special law, which does not contradict the Attorney Act;
We might share information with data processors as per a written agreement when this is necessary for their activities to be realized, provided they ensure the protection of the rights of data subjects in compliance with the requirements of applicable legislation.
What are your rights regarding the personal data provided?
In compliance with Bulgarian and European legislation, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) on the protection of personal data, you can exercise the following rights:
