At LegalMasters.bg, we understand that hiring an attorney may seem like a serious endeavour with unknown financial implications for the client. That is why we are firmly committed to assisting every visitor to make a more informed decision when using legal services and to calculate how a consultation or legal action will impact their budget—sometimes by a positive surprise.
This led to the idea and further implementation of free online calculators to compute the fees and expenses associated with various legal actions.
In this series, our team will introduce different calculators to you that can benefit clients and fellow attorneys in calculating projected fees and expenses in their daily work.
Part I: Calculators for Fees in Civil and Commercial Cases
In this section, you will find two calculators: 1. for court fees for claim proceedings and 2. for court fees for real estate claims.
1. Calculator for Court Fees for Claim Proceedings
This calculator calculates the state fee owed to the courts in the Republic of Bulgaria for civil and trade cases involving monetary claims. Examples include claims for amounts due under contracts, invoices between traders, etc.
Entering the amount of the claimed sum will give you the fee owed to the court.

If you have one main claim but there are also penalties or interest for delay, you should separately calculate them as a second independent claim. They represent a second independent claim.
If relevant to your case, you may optionally compute by the calculator your fee for the next appellate instance and the third cassation instance. Keep in mind that not all of the cases reach the third instance. If your claim is under BGN 5000 in a civil case or under BGN 20,000 in a commercial case, your case will be limited to the second instance. Do not set the calculator to calculate the third instance.
2. Calculator for Court Fees for Real Estate Claims
This calculator computes the state fee owed to the courts in the Republic of Bulgaria for claims related to real estate. For example, claims for ownership rights or other real rights on the property, termination of a contract where real rights on the property are the subject, etc.
Here, you should enter the value of the so-called tax assessment of the property – the property value determined for tax purposes in the respective document by the municipality in which the property is located.

If the claim relates only to a fractional ideal share of the property, you should calculate in advance that fractional part of the value of the tax assessment. Then enter the resulting number. If the claim is lodged by several individuals, the court fee is determined and paid separately for each of them.
